IWTA - North American Section
Save the dates! The 2018 North American Leung Ting WingTsun® kung fu seminars with Great Grandmaster Leung Ting will be in:
San Antonio, Texas Oct. 12-14, 2018 (the 12th is for 10th Student Grade and up, the rest are open to all members)
And:
Toronto, Canada Oct. 20-21, 2018 (open to all members).
Students and instructors from all around the North American Section of the International WingTsun Association (IWTA-NAS) gathered in San Antonio, Texas, on October 20-22, 2017 to train 4 hours per day directly with Great Grandmaster Leung Ting, the Golden Rank Founder of Leung Ting WingTsun®!
Hosted by Master Will Parker of the San Antonio WingTsun Academy, the Friday sessions of the seminar were reserved for instructors and senior students (10th Student Grade and up). Seminar sessions on Saturday and Sunday were open to all current IWTA-NAS members of all Grades and Levels.
Students and instructors worked on refinements and in-depth details on their forms, chi-sau, and fighting applications. And everyone had the opportunity to have their questions about WingTsun answered directly by GGM Leung Ting!
A fun and exciting time was had by all as they learned and refined their WingTsun skills!
It’s that time of the year again! It’s time for Great Grandmaster Leung Ting to come over to Texas and train the North American Section of the IWTA, from October 20-22, 2017. All IWTA-NAS members wanting to learn from the source of Leung Ting WingTsun® should come! While the Friday class is reserved for only those Student Grade 10 and above, Saturday and Sunday are open for all current students and instructors!
Anyone wanting to attend should contact Master Will Parker, who is sponsoring the seminar, as he can answer questions about the area as well. Each day will be 4 hours of training with a lunch break to divide it into two separate 2 hour sessions.
Any questions you have about WingTsun™ can be answered by GGM Leung Ting himself, and any of the other instructors will be more than happy to help you as well. There will be a wealth of information at the seminar and it will be an exciting time to learn or refine your WingTsun skills! The seminar will be held at Master Will Parker’s school, the San Antonio WingTsun Academy. Here are all the details:
Friday, October 20, 2017 (Friday is for those Student Grade 10 and above only)
Saturday, October 21, 2017 (Saturday is open to all IWTA-NAS students and instructors)
Sunday, October 22, 2017 (Sunday is open to all IWTA-NAS students and instructors)
4 Hours of Training with GGM Leung Ting per day, 11am-1pm and 2:30pm-4:30pm each day, with lunch from 1pm-2:30pm

Cost if you register before September 15, 2017: $300 for 2 days or $400 for all 3 days
Cost if you register after September 15, 2017: $350 for 2 days or $450 for all 3 days
Instructors, please try to send in one check for everyone from your branch who is attending and please include a list of students attending with their IWTA-NAS membership numbers and the dates they will be attending. For those who need to register individually, please print your IWTA-NAS membership number on your check and include information on which dates you will be attending.

The seminar host was Master William Parker of the San Antonio WingTsun Academy. The Thursday and Friday seminars were dedicated for Technician Level instructors only. The Saturday and Sunday portions were for all students and instructors. Students and instructors came from many parts of the U.S. to learn from the founder of the Leung Ting WingTsun® system, Great Grandmaster Leung Ting.

A new article is out now in Kung Fu Tai Chi magazine in their July – August issue. The article is called ‘Flexible Wing Tsun.’ It covers several drills regarding the point of contact in a fight utilizing the flexible principals of Wing Tsun chi sau (sticky hands) but applied to actual fighting.
The magazine can be ordered from ZINIO or subscribe. There still may be some copies on certain newsstands. We saw copies at Barnes and Noble in the Sports-Martial Arts magazine section.
